I’m Steven, a Creative Director and Design Strategist focused on storytelling, audience experiences, and building worlds people want to spend time in.

My work sits at the intersection of entertainment, product design, and creative strategy. I help shape creative vision, bring teams together, and turn ambitious ideas into meaningful experiences across digital platforms.

Over the last few years, I’ve helped lead and shape large-scale experiences for BBC iPlayer, spanning franchise destinations, live event experiences, editorial storytelling systems, and next-generation TV platform thinking. My work has ranged from building the digital home of the Doctor Who universe through Whoniverse, to helping shape the future of fandom and live experiences across BBC iPlayer.

Born in Yorkshire with Scottish roots, I’m now based in Harrogate with my wife and daughter. Outside of design, I write, produce, and direct films through Wayside Trinity, alongside a love for running, cycling, cooking, and travel.

I believe the best creative work happens when people unite around a shared vision. Curiosity drives everything I do, and I’m continually inspired by new experiences, cultures, and perspectives that challenge convention and shape stronger storytelling.
